Intense Pulsed Light Source

Do you know everything about lasers? Read about intense pulsed light source which is rather effective for dark hair, both fine and coarse.
Intense Pulsed Light Source
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a method of hair removal from the body which based on the use of a specially constructed xenon flash lamp and focusing optics. The IPL hair removal process has become very popular due to the relatively low intense_pulsed_light_sourcecost and rapidity of the procedure.

Hair removal mechanism: The focused, broad spectrum light is applied to the surface of the skin by way of either a hand-held wand, or by an articulated arm. The intense light penetrates into the tissue of the skin and strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root) of the hair. The bulb contains melanin.

The light strikes the dark-colored melanin, and turned to heat energy. The bulb and most of the hair shaft is immediately destroyed. The intense heat destroys the hair-producing papilla or the entire hair follicle. It is also said that direct light-heat conversion occurs directly in the darker colored capilaries that bring nourishing blood to the follicle.

The duration of light produced by IPL equipment is very short, so discomfort and damage to non-target tissues is minor. Slight irritation similar to that of a minor sunburn can occur after  undergoing IPL epilation. But sometimes under other circumstances blisters may occur. Men who have the procedure of hair removal feel greater discomfort because male body hair is generally thicker than women's. Treating sensitive areas such as the chest and face can cause pain comparable to waxing the same areas. This depend on the instrument settings and intensity, however this pain disappear instantly. The light that comes from the IPL wand is filtered to eliminate any ultraviolet components, which can lead to UV skin damage.
